For Brenda and her husband, Alan, a police officer, Volunteer Fire Chief and Regional EMA Coordinator, their family and serving our community has also been their top priorities. The couple has three married children who they raised in their 75 year old Dallas Township home that utilized the actual structure of the old Pinebrook Grove pavilion when their fathers helped them to restore the property. Brenda and Alan are the proud grandparents of five grandchildren and have an amazing Golden Retriever named Baron who keeps them busy. They are blessed to have all three children still living in Luzerne County and working with them in the family business.
Brenda is one of us, and she will always put the residents of her district first as State Representative. In Harrisburg and here at home, no one will fight harder for our families and our communities.
One of Brenda’s first jobs growing up was working as a waitress at the former Mark II Family Restaurant in Dallas where she learned the importance of hard work, attention to detail and listening to others. Today, as Chief Executive Officer at AMP Global Strategies, Brenda continues to use these skills every day while providing the leadership to create good paying jobs for families here in Luzerne County. Under her direction, AMP is at the forefront of providing cutting edge technology that helps keep students, employees and first responders safer in their schools, universities and while on the job. The company is comprised of former and active public safety personnel, police officers, firefighters, and EMS Responders.
Brenda understands the struggles many small businesses face today when it comes to surviving and growing in our economy. She also knows firsthand the importance of public safety and keeping our schools and communities safe. In the legislature, Brenda will use her experience to implement commonsense policies that create good paying jobs for Luzerne County workers, hold the line on taxes to enable taxpayers to keep more of their money, reform state government to make it work for our families, and support public safety initiatives and our police to keep our communities safe.
Brenda and the entire Pugh family are well known in the community for their willingness to serve and their passion for helping others. Whether it has been her time coaching her children’s youth sports teams, assisting in various capacities for the Luzerne County 4-H, chairing the Luzerne County Fair, serving as President of the Back Mountain Chamber of Commerce, working alongside the community clubs who help so many in our county or ensuring the Dallas Township Old Fashion Christmas Tree Lighting continues,
Brenda exemplifies the Rotary motto…Service Above Self. Brenda and Alan’s company received the Luzerne County Child Advocacy Center’s “Guardian Shield Award” in 2019. This honor is given to those who exemplify “the qualities of caring, dedication, compassion, and service to the children in the community.” Although Brenda never talks about it, she is also very proud to have been nominated by former Representative Karen Boback for the 2019 Paul Harris Fellow Recipient, which is one of the highest honors Rotary awards. She was recognized with the 2022 Times Leader Distinctive Woman for her business skills and dedication to Luzerne County.
As State Representative, Brenda will use her background and knowledge to provide commonsense solutions to the challenges we face. As a fiscal conservative with over 25 years of business experience and a dedicated wife and mother who understands the struggles many families face due to the rising cost of inflation, she can be trusted to always fight for our needs and be our voice in the State House.
Pennsylvania’s 120th State House District includes portions of Luzerne County consisting of the TOWNSHIPS of Dallas, Exeter, Franklin, Jackson and Kingston and the BOROUGHS of Courtdale, Exeter, Forty Fort, Kingston, Luzerne, Pringle, Swoyersville, West Wyoming and Wyoming.
As a small business owner, wife, mother, and trusted volunteer, no one will fight harder for our communities, taxpayers, and our values in Harrisburg and here at home.
